Yes, the bankruptcy rules require you to take a class called “Credit Counseling.” If you decide to use my firm, we are going to sign you up for a Credit Counseling class. We’ll get you a user name. We’ll get you a password. We are going to make it as simple as possible. The class is available either on the internet 24 hours a days, or if you prefer you can do it over the phone. We use a service that will send us electronically a copy of the Certificate of Completion. You don’t have to worry about downloading it, making copies or sending it to me. My company will send it to me. I will make sure that it is electronically filed for you before we file. And, yes, it is mandatory that this class get done prior to filing. So, if you have an emergency situation where we are filing a bankruptcy for you in order to stop a garnishment, we’re going to get you signed up for the class. It can be done in 60 minutes or less. The Certificate comes to me electronically. We file it for you. It’s no problem. It’s also included in my flat feet. We are not going to charge you any additional money for that Credit Counseling class.
Now, there’s a second class that has to be done as well. That one is done after we file the bankruptcy. Again, it’s included in my flat fee. We’re going to get you signed up with a user name and password; it’s called a “Financial Management Class;” it’s very simple. You can’t pass or fail these classes. You just have to complete them. Don’t worry about it. We will walk you through it all.
